Your next Mandatory Writer's Workshop piece will be to write a mystery which includes the following-

Exposition: A man named john starts his day, gets into a car accident, finds himself knocked out only to wake up tied to a chair in a small room, and has to find a way out of the situation.
ReplyDeleteRising Action: John is involved in a dagerous car crash and is kidnapped by a mysterious man.
Climax: John is forced to choose between saving his life, or saving potentially thousands of other lives.
Falling Action: John makes a decision to save either his life or others lives.
Resolution: John discoveres that this ordeal has all been a test of his allegience and he is offered a job by the CIA.

ReplyDeleteAttention Grabber: His heart was pouding. He was sure he has seen the doorknob turn.
Exposition: Nate and Leighny found it amusing to visit the Old Mansion on Forest Lake in Michagan for Spring Break while their friends are off to some resort. Not knowing that the mansion was abandoned years ago due to an accidental fire. They soon uncover the reason for this so-called "inccident" and the souls that were left behind.
Rising Action: As he walked up the creaking steps, he spotted blood. Blood which is now dripping from his very fingertips that was exposed to the handrails.
Climax: He slowly entered the room, and saw her tied with the white scarf.
Falling Action: She wandered outside thinking everything was okay, the scrape from her neck relinquished blood which she saw stained the garment.
Resolution: "Good Night, Nate"

ReplyDeletehis heart was pounding. he was sure he had seen the doorknob turn. his heart was pounding because he did not know what was on the other side of the door. he had a deep fear of the unknown. the closer he got to the door, the faster his heart was beating. he walked slowly and carefully to the door so the person wouldn't hear him approach he door. once he reached the door, he snatched it open and there was his wife looking for her door key. he gave her a big hug as he let out a sigh of relief. they both laughed.

Attention Grabber: The three Of them, such young lives. At the end of their roads they find strenght in the blade, the pills, and the gun.
Exposition: Vanessa, Tony, and Conner are three teens whom all attempted to commit suicide.
Rising Action: The three were all sent to Aspen Springs, the psychiatric hospital,where they all came together.
Climax:Vanessa Relapes and falls back into coping with pain by the warmth of the blade.
Falling action: They all become well and is later freed from Aspen Springs.
Resolution: I don't want to give away the shocking ending so i'll leave this part blank.

rising action: Clues lead the detective to a suspect.
climax: the detective accuses a suspect of murderer, and explains how he did it
falling action: the murderer is put in hand cuffs and taken to jail
resolution: the story ends and the man who was murdered's wife thanks the detective for his work

ReplyDeleteexposition- Pauro is a monster afraid of the children that lurk in his closet at night.
Lucio is an adventurous boy.
rising action- Lucio opens the door into Pauro's monster world and explores. He is not welcome there.
climax- Lucio escapes.
falling action- Pauro locks the door.
resolution- Pauro and Lucio can still communicate.
Title: "Uninvited Guests"
ReplyDeleteExpostion: Its the 169th anniversary of the alleged suicide of a 13 year old girl who was said to have been possesed. No traces of family could be found. Just her body inside a house full of demonic symbols.
Rising action: A mother 50 years from this event moves into the abandoned house that was on sale at a price that would seem unreal, but we all know why. She begins to notice that her 12 year daughter (born ont he day of the suicide) begans to show symptoms of someone has mental issues. Over time, she begans to speak unknown languages, write ancient symbols of black magic on the walls, and for some reason has panic attacks in which she talks to the "voices of the ones who posses her" The mother is concerned.
Climax: As the mother seeks help, she finds out not only of the event but of how someone has died in this house every thirteen years for the past 168 years, and that her daughter is the last to a peiece to a demonic plan to open a portal for demons to freely enter the 3rd demension. Her daughter is the "ultimate sacrifice"
falling action: A loop hole is found in this plan, but the process goes alot further than just an exorcism. The problem is that there is 3 days before the alleged rise of the fallen:
Resolution: The girl is redeemed and all demons leave her. But who knows if this is the last time something like this could happen. The story is kept within the town. The house is destroyed and the lot abandoned. It has been 12 years and 209 days. The house reappears. And an unknown real estate agent sells the house with a new adress of 666 to a family consisting of 1 man and 12 women. The youngest, 12 years old. The detective who solved the last case died 13 days after solving the case. Back to square one.

EXPOSITION: A CHILD NAMED ASA WAS ALONE AT HOME WHEN HE HEARD A NOISE OUTSIDE OF HIS HOUSE.
RISING ACTION: THE NOISE GOT LOUDER, AND ASA NOTICED THE FRONT DOOR KNOB TURNING.
CLIMAX: THE DOOR OPENS.
FALLING ACTION: A SUPERMODEL WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR.
RESOLUTION: THE SUPERMODEL COMES INSIDE AND HELPS ASA BAKE A PIZZA.
THE END.
Exposition: Jane and Mandy were two teens who loved to explore old abandon house. But that one fateful Halloween night, the secrets they will discover will change their fate forever.
ReplyDeleteRising Action: They walked down the old basement steps, when suddenly they heard a noise. Mandy wanted to leave immediately Jane said no it's just an animal.
Climax: Jane walks toward a door slowly when suddenly the knob turned and the door opened slowly.
Falling Action: She wondered the woods looking for a way out. Resolution: What happened to Mandy this is all my fault she thought. I have to find her.

Exposition: Todd is a young boy who has always decided to do things behind his parents back.
Rising Action: He watches a movie that he is not suppose to. The movie is about a clown that kills people. The boy is very scared when he is going to bed but does not want to tell his parents because he is afraid they will punish him. He is now laying bed scared as anthing.
Climax:He starts to hear weird noises, and he starts to think the clown is after him.And the he hears the door knob, and the door opens.
Reolution: It was his parents scaring him to teach him a lesson about disobeying them!

exposition: Pete was in a motor cycle wreck.
Rising Action: Hes in a small room in the hospital at the farthest end. He tries to think about the wreck but only one thing comes back there was a man in the middle of the road.
Climax: He tries to fall asleep as the lights flicker and then go off. Hes completly alone and tryed to get up out of the bed, as he hears someone walking down the hall banging on the doors. Suddnley it stops, pete tries to lift himself. He falls and he hears the door knob turn and sees the door open.
RESOLUTION: A man is standing in the doorway as pete crawled to the corner. the man yelled as he went to hit pete. but before he could he was struck from behind. pete was saved from a killer,

Exposition: The earthbound spirit of a teen boy refuses to cross over because he doesn't want to leave his past love.
Rising Action: A man with the gift of seeing and talking to spirits tries to convince the boy that he should crossover and leave his once true love in peace.
Climax:The boy remains earthbound until he feels he can get through to his past love, so he uses his powers to remind her of him, but soon she finds someone else and the spirit begins to torture her new lover. The teen boy causes the new boyfriend to die in a car accident.
Resolution: The spirit sees how much pain he has caused his past lover and returns to the man with the gift and asks him for advice. The man convinces him that he should move on and the spirit decides that his heart broken lover is better off without him.He then crosses over into the light.

ReplyDeleteExpostion: Sara is a young curious girl. She was always getting into something she wasnt suppose to. Her parents always told her not to go out at night.
Rising Action: Curious Sara decides to go out at night without her parents knowing just to see if anything was going to happen to her. As Sara is walking down the street, she starts seeing shadows. The shadows lookes as if someone was walking behind her. When she would turn around noone will be there. The she starts to hear big, loud footsteps. Sara gets really afraid and starts running home. She runs in the house and heads straight for the living room.
Climax: She sits on the couch for a moment. Her heart was pounding and sure she had seen the doorknob turn. She thought to herself, how can she not lock the door!The door slowly opens!
Falling Action: Thats when her mother and father come through the door. Sara was so relieved to find her parents walking through the door.
Resoulution: After that day, Sara listened to her parents and never again went out after dark!

ReplyDeleteExposition: Ryker was a "geek" at Lowery High School. He was always bullied, thrown in lockers, and made straight A's. One night, in an attempt to fit in, for once, he follwed the jocks over t an abondoned shead. Things got serious after Ryker was locked in the shead, pitch black, and the jock's left him because of how scared they were.
Rising action: The jocks return to the scene, to find that Ryker was missing. Blood was everywhere.
Climax: They step in the shed to look around. The door slams and the jocks screm.
Falling action: Lights flip on and all the jocks were sliced through the neck. A zombie like face looks up and chuckles.
Resolution: Team of football players is missing, everyones body to be found except Ryker's.

Exposition:Nike was a sweet girl who didnt want any trouble.She was a sophmore at holton high and loved school, she was often quiet and had a big crush on "john taylor" the hockey jock of holton high . John was mean and thought that making the best night of all nights for nike into a horror that she could never forget, but for john this will be the night of all nights for him.
Rising Action:prom night arrives and everyones happy, nikes so happy to be at prom . john arrives and nike is so happy.
Climax:nikes dancing with john when she notices and everyone else notices theres blood on her skirt . everyone starts to chant"nikes got her period" . nikes starts to cry she runs to the bath room and realizes it was pig blood as she sat there and cryed her body began to tingle and she turned red and everything on the outside seem to just fade ,omg what was to happen now.
Falling action: nike goes to the ball room shuts off the lights and everyone begins to scream. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Resolution: as police investigate everyones dead and all the victims heads are missing , where could they be and where is nike?

ReplyDeleteExposition:Sam walked into the dark gloomy room he took a deep breath smelled the murky dust air and coughed. It was very cold and he could see his breath with every step he took. He heard noises and felt a chill go down his spine he turned around because he felt some ones presence. “His heart was pounding. He was sure he had seen the door knob turn.” He began to step back lightly but quickly so he could go to somewhere safe.
Climax: He felt something touching him and let out a scream come to find out it was the coat rack. He walked up the stairs and took a moment to catch his breath. He thought to himself, your going crazy Sam just breath be calm there’s nothing in here that can hurt you.
Falling Action: Finally when he was calm he took a seat on the bed wondering why he took the bet to come to this haunted house.
Resolution:All of a sudden the bed started to tremble he began to cry for his life and a bright light came from under the door he closed his eyes and heard the door creak open. Something touched him and he passed out. When he woke up his friends were sitting on the bed laughing at the joke they played on him he was upset but laughed at it in the end.
*attention: A loud sound in the closet wakes him up,and he swear he saw the door open and close.
ReplyDelete*Exposition: Tom David found it crazy that he still belive in monsters even tho he is ten years old now. Tom is ready to get over his biggest fear his owen closet that has always haunted him.
*Rising Action:Something grabed him, and slung him into the closet he was nocked out. When he came to he wasnt home any more.
*Climax: He was lost in his closet and there was something out to get him as he trys to find his way around this new world. the monsters took him as thier prisoner. they were more then just monsters they were big bugs.
*Falling Action: He finds one of the good bugs to help him out of jail, and he found a path out the closet.
*Resolution: TOMS mom called his name about ten time then she finally put cold water over him. he woke up to realize he was dreaming all that time.

Rising Action: Makhail learns that the monsters of movies maybe behind the deaths.
Climax: Makhail is visited in his home by the killers of his cases.
Falling Action: He must use his judgment to figure out how to stop the killings.
Resolution: He comes to an agreement with the killers.

ReplyDeleteAttention Grabber: His heart was pounding. He was sure he had seen the doorknob turn.
Exposition: Detective Davis retired from running down criminals and moved to a position where he sits behind a desk. Yet he finds himself in the midst of danger.
Rising Action: Davis has seen and witnessed a lot in his 15 years of service but not this. The death of six teens in counting, all in the same house. Six bloody deaths at that. Which means these aren't normal deaths...these are murders. The police can't find a lead though because there are no fingerprints, footprints, not even a stranded piece of hair anywhere in the house. Maybe the killer was wearing gloves or was careful not to step in the blood to leave footprints. No, this house has been abandoned for 50 years. The only ones who try to go in are teenagers with their little truth or dare games. They are also the ones who never come out.
Rising Action: The opening of the door interrupted Davis' thoughts and he pointed his gun toward the door. The hallway is dark and he cannot see more than five feet in front of him.
Climax: The window to his right swings opened and distracts Davis and he loses his gun as if it has been smacked out of his hand and finds himself on the ground with a powerful hold around his neck. Davis manages to open his eyes and he finds himself looking straight into the dark eyes of Ray Presley. The man who was killed in his own home by trespassers who tried to rob him fifty years ago. Those trespassers were teens who figured the house is so old it has to have some expensive stuff in it. When they came across an old man threatening to call the cops in the living room, they stabbed him with knives and beat him anything they can find until he was lifeless because of their fear of the police. Now whenever some one enters, he returns the favor.
Falling Action: A funeral was held for Detective Fred Davis a month later.
Resolution: Five friends, James, Chris, Molly, Kristin, and Andrew are walking down the street bored out of their minds. Soon however, Chris gets an idea when he spots an old house across the street. "Hey guys.... lets play truth or dare."

Attention Grabber: she thought it would be just a normal vaction until everything went wrong.
Exposition: when the young girl finds out that the hotel they are staying in is over a old grave
Rising Action: when people go missing and the girl and trys to find out how
Climax: when she finds out that the hotel over a grave and that the dead people are trying to get her
Falling Action: she finds out where her family and friends are even though she is hurt
Resolution: family leaves the hotel
My favorite story is Ashleys, i mostly find it the the best due to her falling action. The last line leaves the audience hanging and makes me want to read the story. I really find something like that the best way to get the attention of the reader, she makes me want to read her story to find out how it ends.I also have always liked scary stories that deal with a past history. I like how she tells of how the mansion was empty, and that leads to why the kids are in the situation they are in.

Title- The Uninvited Guests
Attention Grabber- His heart was pounding. He was sure he had seen the doorknob turn.
Exposition- Jonathan had a very humdrum existence. He led a very repetitive lifestyle; waking up each morning to carry out the same tedious tasks. He would go to work, walk the dog, go to sleep. Go to work, walk the dog, go to sleep.
Rising Action- Never had he seen such a beautiful being. The epitome of pure perfection; he never fathomed he would have the opportunity to court someone. Her husband would not be a concern of hers; he would see to that. He was hers for the keeping, a pure title would not keep him for claiming his prize."These 5 days could not pass soon enough."
Climax- The garage door had opened. He remained consumed with their dinner, but she flew into a frenzy. "My husband," she cried "You have to leave!" He was confused; I thought she was leaving her husband, why would she be concerned with him finding him out. He heard the footsteps coming up the stairs....all three of them stood there with the same look of hurt and dismay on their faces.
Falling Action- He craved her; her touch, her smell, her taste. Walking past her in the office without being acknowledged killed him. He needed to touch; just to have her brush up against him would subside. "I have to," he said to himself "Maybe just a strand of her hair would soothe my thirst. Ugh, I have to have one!"
Resolution- She stood lifeless beneath him. "This wasn't supposed to happen!" They were to only talk things out. "How could such a horrid turn of events occur!"

Exposition- Anthony had a very carefree lifestyle. All he cared about was girls and getting in their pants.Every weekend he was out with Steven's wife causing her to cheat on him.
Rising Action- She was bangin! Like she was the apple of his eye, he couldnt help that he was attracted to her. It was simply human nature. On the other hand she was in love with two and Anthony seemed to give her all that she yearned for.
Climax- She walked through the door of his trailer home and her arouma filled the air. His eyes couldnt leave her flawless face. Seconds after entering his humble home a furious batter on the alunimum front door had them both of their hearts racing. A familiar voice shouted "I know you got my woman in there! I'm coming to get her-dead or alive!" The wife of Steven and Anthony laughed, continuing their meal. Suddenly they heard the faint noise of a cocking noise of a double barrel shot gun...and both froze in between bites. His heart was pounding. He was sure he had seen the doorknob turn.
Falling Action- The bodies of Anthony and the wife of Steven were never found.
Resolution-Steven never got remarried and continues to live with his male friend and suspected companion Daniel to this day.
